Mercat Municipal d'Abastos

Xàbia — casco antiguo, Marina Alta

Built in 1946 over the ruins of the convent of Discalced Augustinian Sisters (destroyed in the Civil War), the Mercat Municipal spans 800 metres of stalls beneath rough stone arches. Bread, fruit, meat and fresh seafood exist together in a live commercial space since the mid-20th century.
