What to see in Altea

Altea preserves the essence of a Mediterranean village with white houses and cobbled lanes that slope down from a parish church crowned with azulejos (ceramic tiles) in blue and white. The Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel is the first Russian Orthodox temple built in Spain, entirely constructed from wood from the Urals. National Geographic selected Altea as Spain’s most beautiful village to visit in July, praising its balance of tradition, art, and tourism.

🚆 How to get there from Alicante

El TRAM línea L1 connects Alicante-Luceros with Altea, stopping at El Campello, Villajoyosa and Benidorm. The journey takes about 2 hours. There are also autobús services available with frequent connections.
