Turrones El Lobo
A turrón-making dynasty that traces back to 1725, when Lorenzo Sirvent Ibáñez left farming to make turrón and passed the trade down through the generations. The factory that today produces the El Lobo and 1880 brands is still in Xixona and can be visited.

The story the company itself tells begins in 1725, when Lorenzo Sirvent Ibáñez swapped farming for turrón-making in Xixona and taught the craft to his son, who passed it on generation after generation. One descendant went on to open a small workshop in Argentina next to a local grocer's called El Lobo, whose name he ended up inheriting for his own brand once he returned.
The family business, now run as Juan Antonio Sirvent Selfa, S.A., produces the El Lobo and 1880 brands from its factory in Xixona's turrón-making industrial quarter. Part of the firm's older premises was handed over to set up the Museo del Turrón, which keeps the machinery and tools that production itself had made obsolete.
Three centuries on, it is still one of the names that explain why Xixona is synonymous with turrón across Spain.
